Images and photographs are not considered ‘still life’ by Australian artist Justine Khamara. In her works, Khamara disrupts the two dimensionality of traditional photography by cutting, layering, and distorting the image. The images then transform into sculptural collages.
In her exploration, Khamara has printed photographs on everything from steel, cloth, and wood. The goal beyond making fantastically conceptual works is to breath new life into a traditional medium.
