It’s been a good couple of years for Madeliene L’engle fans as news of “A Wrinkle in Time” is currently being shepherded into the world by the director of “Frozen”. But more good news has come in the form of the movie “Camilla Dickinson”, which is based off of another one of Madeleine’s books, “Camilla”.
The novel takes place in New York in 1950, about a 15-year-old named Camilla who narrates the story. She’s a budding astronomer who has to deal with the emotional complexities of her parents’ relationship that is unraveling just as Camilla herself is learning about first loves. The movie premiered at Sundance Festival in 2012, but will be available for all on August 25th.
A special screening will be held in New York City on August 27th. Cornelia Duryee Moore (screenwriter/director/goddaughter of Madeliene L’engle) and Charlotte Jones Voiklis (co-producer/granddaughter) will be screening clips and talking about the film.
