2014 has been the year of Jewels. With the absence of a new Kanye West album this year, the punk rock mentalities of modern hip hop found a home in the second Run The Jewels album – simply titled Run The Jewels 2. RTJ2, of course, is the sequel to the equally brilliant RTJ1 – both bringing together, in a splendid musical marriage, the distinctive voices of El-P and Killer Mike.

Following the reckless ambulance antics of the video for “Blockbuster Night Part 1,” the just-released clip for “Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry)” builds on the same tone of playful ominousness. Described by Rolling Stone as a “hip-hop flicker-fest full of spiraling lights, nude dancers, and acid-washed warp effects,” the clip was directed by Timothy Saccenti – perhaps best known for his work with Phantogram and Animal Collective. Watch “Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry)” below, and pair your viewing with this oddly compelling Run The Jewels discussion on Steven Seagal via A.V. Club.
