Though the general reception and public acceptance of Google Glass – Goggle’s stab at creating an omnipresent computer through wearable tech – has been a continuously uphill battle, a recent happening in the Glass conversation could shift a few hearts and minds.  FKA twigs recently unveiled her Google Glass concept film entitled #throughglass, wherein the artist “uses [Google] Glass to call upon references and inspirations as well as incorporating the device into the actual filming.”

Picture 10The result is an impressive and concise display of FKA’s proven artistry (the clip is soundtracked by reworked versions of “Video Girl” and “Glass & Patron”), without ever directly bowing to the gods of advertisement as one might mistakenly assume in such a collaboration.  In a recent profile of #throughglass, The Verge writer Kwame Opam described the film as “a look into a technologically-enhanced yet fractured mind” and “an interesting commentary on tech and identity.”
