“That’s my goal in life: to not die a pop pop dumb dumb.”
These are bold – though certainly not unexpected – words from the endlessly scrutinized mouth of Miley Cyrus. Miley’s admirably revamped image and music, often at exciting odds with one another, have been so ubiquitous over the past two years that the dizzying combination of both has managed to exist above the intellectual dissection and pundit-strapped controversy. Miley seems acutely aware of this, now funneling that adventurous level of seemingly permanent public consciousness into a new medium: sculpture. Pieces from the collection – entitled “Dirty Hippie” – will debut during Jeremy Scott’s NYFW show today. The entire collection will be on display, starting September 11th, at the gallery in V’s Soho offices.
