For the latest Angels & Airwaves multi-platform release, Tom DeLonge & company (now including virtuosic musical powerhouse Ilan Rubin) have shifted their creative focus to the exploration of sleep – particularly, lucid dreaming.  Featuring music from the forthcoming album The Dream Walker (including the Perspective Daily-featured track “Paralyzed”), the animated short film “Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker” follows young Poet, a lucid dreamer with the exceptional ability to be aware of his dreams as they happen.

During his sleep travels, Poet encounters his Dream Walker – a guardian angel who tirelessly protects him from a harrowing Night Terror monster.  When Poet’s dreams start to bleed into his day-to-day existence, he is faced with the perilous task of confronting his greatest fears in ways he never thought imaginable.  “Poet was a character that seemed like he lived up in the buildings on a rainy night in Paris,” DeLonge told Purevolume earlier this week.  “Then, I saw a documentary about dreams and it was interesting to see how nightmares serviced the mind of human beings, and the purpose for them.”

“Poet” is the follow-up to the inaugural Angels & Airwaves multi-platform adventure – 2011’s equally ambitious Love, a former Netflix Deep Cut here at Perspective Daily.  “Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker” is set to premiere at the Toronto International Short Film Festival next month, with a digital release following in December.
