The Smashing Pumpkins Share “One and All”

Most recently, you might recall Billy Corgan making headlines due to CNN resident heel Anderson Cooper’s tone-deaf takedown of Corgan’s appearance on the cover of PAWS Chicago Magazine.  Unimportant C-list feuds aside, Corgan has actually been rather busy artistically – with the new Smashing Pumpkins album Monuments to an Elegy due this December.  The Huffington Post just premiered Monuments track “One and All” (closely following last month’s reveal of “Being Beige”), and the general consensus seems to be: it’s quite good.

Monuments was produced by Howard Willing, whose previous connection with the Pumpkins rests in their 1998 album Adore.  The album reportedly features contributions from Tommy Lee, and will be joined with a quick follow-up in the form of next year’s Day for Night.  “It’s been a long time since someone patted me on the back,” Corgan told HuffPo.  The Pumpkins mastermind can rest easy, as “One and All” is a polite kick in the teeth of naysayers.
